Faber-Castell Pitt Artist Pens

The nibs of these pens are durable enough to withstand the required bending pressure that is needed to be applied on some occasions. Their light colors are transparent and vibrant while their darker shades boast unmatched covering abilities. The ink is waterproof, pH neutral, and completely acid-free. Both the color and the nib size/type are conveniently indicated on the end of the pen cap, so the work of the artist becomes easier. These pens are so comfortable to use, that besides the countless artists that select them, many journalists also choose them to carry out their daily writing tasks.
Product Pros & Cons
Artist Likes
- Won’t bleed even on thin paper
- Very lightfast and long-lasting
- Black is dark as India ink
- Vibrant colors
- Good price for what you get
- Consistent ink flow
Artist Dislikes
- Not possible to blend
- The medium nib seems to dry very fast
- A bit uncomfortable to hold
The Pitt Artist Pens are a professional level tool that is meant to be used by people who know what they are doing. That said, there are many people out there who bought these as “markers” and tried to blend the colors to no avail of course. Other than that, the only reasonable complaint comes from artists who selected the medium nib which seems to be especially problematic and dried out in less than an hour and even when the cap is carefully closed. The vast majority of the Pitt Pens users are pretty much enjoying the brightness of the light colors and the darkness of the black, the consistency of the ink flow, and the fact that it doesn’t bleed through book or notebook papers which are quite thin.
Final Considerations
No matter what is your medium of choice, when it comes to India ink pens you got to have some lying on your workshop. These pens can serve a wide variety of purposes, but are mostly useful for detailing. Those of you who like doodling, sketching or cartoon drawing will absolutely love this product. Lastly, this Faber-Castell product is admittedly cheap for it build quality.
